Shabbat Services

Come and enjoy our relaxed, fun and meaningful Shabbat services. Ruach Hamidbar offers a perfect blend of tradition and creativity.

  • We celebrate Shabbat through music, dance, drumming, storytelling, guided meditation, and interactive prayer.
  • We are a warm and accepting community. We are LGBTQ and differently-abled friendly.
  • All Jews and spiritual seekers are welcome. No background or Hebrew is necessary.
  • We hold monthly Friday night services, see below for details.
  • We hold monthly Saturday morning services at 10:00 am.
  • All services are followed by a great kiddush and fun shmoozing time.

Friday Night Revived: A Country Soul Shabbos

Come for an uplifting music services, filled with hand-clapping, original toe tapping tunes for Shabbat!
Join Rabbi Geela Rayzel Raphael with Reb Sarah Leah Grafstein
and musical friends from Ruach Hamidbar; Pinna Joseph, Daniel Hirtz and John Hinton.
They will lift your souls and open your hearts. Move into shabbos in joy!

Rabbi Geela Rayzel Raphael has in her kishkes the roots of a multi-dimensional Jew. Her Tennessee upbringing and love for its musical heritage, as well as a deeply heartfelt spirituality and joy, come through in her music. You can hear in her tunes all kinds of “roots Americana” genres that lift the texts to a new level of prayerfulness, as well as playfulness.

Potluck dairy/veggie, bring enough for 6-8 people.
